RN Admissions Coordinator in Buffalo, NY (Full Time, Days)

Job Overview:
Weinberg Campus, offering a full continuum of care, in Amherst, NY is currently hiring a RN Admissions Coordinator. The Admissions Coordinator will screen prospective residents and coordinate their admission to the facility. The majority of time spent will be in hospitals. The Admissions Screener represents the facility to the community and will market facility services. The Admissions Registered Nurse will also collect and distribute information to appropriate staff of all new residents.

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) Admissions Screener:

  • Screens, interviews and evaluates prospective residents and their representatives to determine suitability and eligibility of placement including financial arrangements 
  • Obtains and completes all necessary admission and readmission paperwork 
  • Visits local hospitals and maintains an ongoing schedule of visits  
  • Provides information to applicants and their families related to admission to the facility 
  • Initiates and maintains contact with insurance representatives and Social Services to ensure payment 
  • Works independently to approve admissions
  • Schedules and provides tours or makes arrangements for someone to be available to do so 
  • Understand and track metrics in order to reach established revenue targets
  • Provide strong customer service. 
  • Conduct personalized appointments, tours and assist in application process.
  • Provide consistent and timely follow up with customers through appointments, phone calls and mailings to answer questions and advance sales process to close.
  • Utilize PCC customer management software for all customer and referral interactions for tracking and analysis.

Requirements:

License:

  • NYS License as an Registered Nurse (RN)

Experience:

  • One year screening experience or experience working with admissions decisions.  

Skills:

  • Ability to exercise independent judgement
  • Ability to close sales 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to function well in fast pace environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and HMO InsuranceA complete understanding of nursing home and Subacute regulationsExcellent communication skills
